Accountable Editorial Functions
Digital Liberty operates as an independently managed specialist digital publication focused on digital rights, privacy, online freedom, technology governance, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and the wider relationship between technology and individual liberty.
To avoid creating a misleading impression of organizational size, this masthead distinguishes accountable editorial functions from individual employees.
A desk, office, or contact function may describe a responsibility handled by one or more authorized people. It does not necessarily represent a separate full time department.

Permanent editorial personnel are listed on this page when they hold a continuing accountable role within Digital Liberty.
Freelance writers, guest contributors, photographers, researchers, translators, reviewers, analysts, and subject specialists are identified through individual article bylines and author pages.
Where appropriate, an author page may identify the contributor’s relevant expertise, professional role, material professional affiliations, correction history, and recent work.
Digital Liberty does not create fictitious staff profiles, synthetic headshots presented as real people, inflated biographies, or honorary titles intended to create a misleading impression of organizational size or expertise.
Pseudonyms may be used only where there is a documented safety, legal, privacy, or public interest reason and where their use has been approved by the responsible editor.
Editorial Accountability
Responsibility for published journalism ultimately rests with the publication’s accountable editorial leadership.
Different editorial functions may be delegated, but delegation does not remove responsibility for maintaining appropriate standards of accuracy, attribution, transparency, independence, corrections, and reader accountability.
Commercial, technical, administrative, and partnership functions remain separate from independent editorial decision making.
Masthead Changes
This masthead is updated when significant editorial responsibility changes.
Former staff members or contributors are not silently presented as current members of Digital Liberty.
Material changes to editorial leadership, ownership, publisher control, or accountable editorial functions should also be reflected in the relevant Editorial Transparency Report and Publisher and Legal Information page.
The purpose of this masthead is to provide readers with a clear understanding of who is responsible for Digital Liberty’s journalism and how concerns about published material can be raised.
