Purpose of This Log
This page provides a centralized public record of substantive corrections, clarifications, editor’s notes, retractions, and significant post-publication updates made to Digital Liberty content after its public-launch baseline.
It supplements any correction or update notice displayed directly on the affected article.
Routine spelling, punctuation, formatting, broken-link, or minor style fixes that do not change meaning may be corrected without a separate log entry.
A change is recorded when it materially affects a fact, quotation, attribution, number, headline, image, conclusion, disclosure, fairness issue, or a reader’s understanding of the published material.
Correction Categories
Correction: A factual or material error has been identified and fixed.
Clarification: The original wording was not necessarily false but could reasonably have caused confusion or lacked necessary context.
Editor’s Note: Important context, a dispute, an unresolved evidence issue, a legal development, or an editorial process concern has been added.
Update: New and verified information materially changes, expands, or advances the article after publication.
Retraction: An article or central claim is no longer sufficiently reliable to remain published in its original form and has therefore been withdrawn.
Removal Notice: Content has been removed for a legal, safety, privacy, rights, or exceptional editorial reason. A notice may be retained where lawful and appropriate.
How Entries Are Written
Each entry identifies the date, affected article, type of editorial action, and a concise explanation of what changed and why.
Correction notes should provide enough information for readers to understand the nature of the change without unnecessarily repeating harmful personal information or sensitive material.
Where an identified error also appeared in a headline, social media post, newsletter, image, or syndicated version controlled by Digital Liberty, we will seek to correct those versions where reasonably possible.
An article’s “Last Updated” date does not, by itself, constitute a correction disclosure.
Material changes receive a visible correction, clarification, editor’s note, or other appropriate notice.
Public Launch Baseline
24 August 2026 | Publication-wide | Launch baseline
Digital Liberty established this centralized public Corrections Log as part of its transition into an ongoing independent digital publication.
Earlier or legacy material may be subject to retrospective editorial review.
Material corrections identified during such a review will be recorded in this log and, where appropriate, on the affected article pages.
Current Entries
No additional material correction entries have been recorded since the public-launch baseline as of 24 August 2026.
This section will be updated when a substantive correction, clarification, editor’s note, retraction, removal notice, or other qualifying editorial action is recorded.
Submit a Correction
Readers who identify a potential factual error or material omission may submit a correction request to:
corrections@digitalliberty.info
Please include:
- The article title
- The article URL
- The exact statement or passage in question
- The proposed correction
- Supporting evidence or documentation where available
Concerns about editorial process, fairness, or the handling of a correction may be sent to:
complaints@digitalliberty.info
Providing specific evidence and clearly identifying the relevant passage helps the editorial team assess the request efficiently.
Retention
Corrections Log entries are ordinarily retained as part of Digital Liberty’s historical editorial record, even where the affected article is subsequently archived, substantially revised, or removed.
A record may be limited, redacted, or handled differently where continued publication would create disproportionate legal, privacy, security, or safety harm.
The purpose of maintaining this record is to provide readers with a transparent account of substantive changes to published journalism and to preserve accountability for Digital Liberty’s editorial history.
